IOWA Special Non-resident Deer Tag Auction
Turkeys For Tomorrow is proud to offer a highly-desired Iowa Special Non-Resident Deer Tag. Iowa is considered by many to be one of the premier whitetail deer hunting destinations in the United States. The Hawkeye State is where whitetail dreams become reality and every year there are several bucks harvested over 200 inches. Getting a tag often takes many years. This is your opportunity to guarantee a tag and promote state and local conservation efforts through Turkeys For Tomorrow, in partnership with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources.
TFT’s focus on the conservation of the wild turkey is not limited to one region. We are working to save the wild turkey in all regions of North America. Our friends at the Iowa DNR have been implementing practices and conducting research for the past two years that is providing vital information to their biologists and enabling them to make sound decisions related to the wild turkey. This information can be used throughout the country.
Dan Kaminski, a wildlife biologist with the Iowa DNR, has been marking hens and poults with GPS or VHF/Radio transmitters since 2021. This has enabled Dan to evaluate population demographic parameters related to hen and poult survival, cause specific mortality, and nesting rates. Some of Dan’s findings have been in line with the trends TFT has seen in other states. Help us help wild turkeys in the state of Iowa.
Hunt for a trophy Iowa whitetail deer without going through the normal non-resident draw process.
The special license allows you to hunt statewide (landowner permission would be required on private land) for one any sex deer and one antlerless deer during your choice of season - archery, shotgun (which includes straight-walled rifle cartridges) or late muzzleloader. In addition to the winning bid, the high bidder will have to pay directly to the Iowa DNR the normal cost of the hunt & habitat fee of $144. The license is valid for hunter’s choice of 2023 or 2024 hunting seasons. The winning bidder must contact Denise Roberg, Specialty License Manager at Iowa DNR, to specify choice of year and season. Contact Denise Roberg at denise.roberg@dnr.iowa.gov.
