TFT Welcomes Josh Honeycutt as New Staff Writer.

TFT grows with the addition of new team member.

TFT is excited to announce Josh Honeycutt as a new staff writer for the organization. Alongside other skilled professionals, he’ll strive to drive TFT’s message forward, effectively striving to conserve wild turkeys and preserve this invaluable resource for future generations.

Growing up in the creek and river bottoms of central Kentucky, he was raised with the wild turkey. Since then, he’s heard gobblers sound off in states from the Southeast to the Midwest and beyond. Few things he finds more compelling than the need to protect one of God’s masterpieces — the wild turkey.

“I find peace and solace in the outdoors, and when a wild turkey gobbles, an occasional shot of adrenaline, too,” Honeycutt said. “Without question, the wild turkey is a national treasure and preserving it should be front-of-mind for every sportsman and sportswoman. Now is the time to press forward with wild turkey conservation, and I’m proud to assist that effort in the ways I’m equipped to do so.”

Honeycutt comes with years of dedicated service to the outdoor industry. With time spent at Western Kentucky University, and a degree in Communications from the University of South Carolina, he’s since built a career as a writer, editor, photographer, and videographer in the outdoor space.

Delivering freelance and contract communications services since 2012, he’s contributed to more than 100 media outlets and brands within the outdoor industry. Major titles he’s worked with include Outdoor Life, Field & Stream, Game & Fish, Bowhunter, Fur-Fish-Game, Petersen’s Hunting, and many more.

Formerly working for the National Wild Turkey Federation and writing for other conservation organizations such as the National Deer Association and Whitetails Unlimited, he also has experience in the conservation realm.

“Overall, I’m excited to share a role in the great lengths involved with protecting and promoting wild turkeys and wild turkey research,” Honeycutt said. “It’s a noble work, and one of my proudest efforts as an outdoor writer. I’m excited to get to begin, and to give back to a resource that’s given so much to me.”
